Rebecca Bottone - Soprano

Rebecca Bottone was born in Bedfordshire and is a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music. Recent engagements include Marina Litvinenko in The Life and Death of Alexander Litvinenko (Grange Park Opera); Queen Tye in Akhnaten (English National Opera), Ilia in Idomeneo and Giunia in Lucio Silla (Buxton Festival)‚ Despina in Cosi fan Tutte, Bauci in Bauci e FilemoneAmore in Orfeo ed Euridice and Weltgeist in Die Schuldigkeit des ersten Gebots (Classical Opera)‚ Yum Yum in The Mikado‚ Clorinda in La Cenerentola and Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance (Scottish Opera)‚ Haydn’s Creation (Zurich), Amor in Orfeo (La Nuova Musica)‚ Apolle e Dafne (Karlsruhe Handel Festival)‚ Sophie in The Mother and Mozart vs Machine (Mahogany Opera Project)‚ Magdalena in La Resurrezione (Lyon), Dalila in Handel’s Samson, Judas Maccabeus and Fight for a Song (Capella Cracoviensis), Messiah (Bridgewater Hall), Petite Messe Solenelle (Nico and the Navigators) and Last Night of the Proms (RPO).

Rebecca has worked with many of the world’s leading orchestras and conductors. Recordings include Albert Herring with Richard Hickox, Eurice in Adelaide di Borgognia and Cleone in Ermione. She has made appearances in BBC Two’s documentary The Genius of Beethoven (English Chamber Orchestra)‚ David Starkey’s Music and Monarchy and the role of singer in Steven Poliakoff’s acclaimed film Capturing Mary.
